PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMS

SPACE INSURANCE

Aims and Objectives

The aim of this Professional Development Programme (PDP) is to present to Participants an overview of the key elements of satellite and launch vehicle insurance. The objective is for the participants to gain comprehensive understanding of the subject and feel confident in conversing in issues related to the topic.

The PDP is divided into two components. The academic component is an intensive one-day course that will provide the participants with the necessary knowledge to converse with space insurance industry representatives in order to meet the requirements of insuring future Egyptian satellites. The optional workshop component will allow participants to engage in a hypothetical scenario, thus putting to use the knowledge gained during the academic component.

It is suggested the course format should be informal, where questions to the presenter are encouraged throughout the modules. This would enable participants to obtain immediate clarifications, or further detailed explanations of the topic at hand.

At the end of each day, time has been set aside for additional interactive questions and answers, to enable further clarifications of specific topics covered during the day. This has been created to ensure all the relevant topics have been covered, to the level of detail desired by the participants.
