2009

May 2009: Abdul M. Ismail's Opinion Editorial titled Potential of Bangladesh's Space Sector is published in the Financial Express of Bangladesh.

September 2009: The American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) is pleased to announce that its Associate Fellows Upgrade Committee has selected Abdul M. Ismail an Associate Fellow for the class of 2010.

 

2008

July 2008: Abdul M. Ismail is quoted in Emirates Business 24-7 in an article titled UAE turns the spotlight on space revolution.

 

September 2008: Abdul M. Ismail is interviewed for the "Hot Seat" section of the Time Out Abu Dhabi magazine.

 

2007

January 2007: INTERPLANETARY EXPEDITIONS successfully convinces the organisers of the IAA small satellite symposium to reduce the registration fees by 30% for participants from developing nations.

 

February 2007: INTERPLANETARY EXPEDITIONS was awarded a contract by the Nigerian National Space Research and Development Agency to supply it with two scale replicas of the KOSMOS 3M used to launch NigeriaSat-1 into orbit.

 

April 2007: INTERPLANETARY EXPEDITIONS assists the Syrian General Organization of Remote Sensing to secure preferential rates at the Cham Palace Hotel for the ISNET 2007 seminar on Remote Sensing for Water Resource Management.

 

June 2007: INTERPLANETARY EXPEDITIONS was awarded a contract by the Nigerian National Space Research and Development Agency to supply it with two scale replicas of the Long March  3B used to launch Nigcomsat-1 into orbit in August.

 

2006

January 2006: INTERPLANETARY EXPEDITIONS successfully convinces AGI to allow the sale of STK to the Algerian Space Agency (ASAL) and Centre National des Techniques Spatiales (CNTS). Prior to this success, Algerian organisations were unable to procure this software.

 

August 2006: INTERPLANETARY EXPEDITIONS signs a memorandum of understanding with the International Space University (ISU) to promote a new ISU scholarship to all 57 Organisation of Islamic Conference (OIC) member states.

 

2005

June 2005: INTERPLANETARY EXPEDITIONS signs a memorandum of understanding with Analytical Graphics Inc. (AGI), the company that develops Satellite Tool Kit (STK), to assist with marketing the software to international clients, especially developing nations.

 

November 2005: INTERPLANETARY EXPEDITIONS successfully facilitates an introduction between AGI and the Nigerian National Space Research and Development Agency.

 

2004

2003

January 2003: All work on the ESA consulting contract is successfully completed and all material is officially handed to SSTL on 10th January 2003 who edit the final report and submit it to ESA three months later.

 

2002

June 2002: INTERPLANETARY EXPEDITIONS established.

 

June 2002: INTERPLANETARY EXPEDITIONS secures interest from the European Space Agency to sponsor a Phase 0 carbon dioxide/metal powder "Martian ISRU" propellant study contract. Since INTERPLANETARY EXPEDITIONS was not a registered ESA supplier and has no prior experience working on ESA contracts, after consultation with the agency, the company recommends that the contract is given to Surrey Satellite Technology Limited where INTERPLANETARY EXPEDITIONS, who has previous experience engineering the same system during employment with a NASA subcontractor, works as the principal (and only) consultant.

 

August 2002:  Funding for the ESA Phase 0 contract is secured and work begins.
